Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved aunt Lucy, who is now residing at the home for retired bears. With the Brown family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery sends them on an unexpected journey. The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this installment. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was brought on board as an executive producer. Starring in 葛雷漢諾頓秀: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). Paddington in Peru is a charming, if unremarkable, film. It doesn’t quite reach the heights of Paddington 2 of course, but is probably about on par with the first. With a different director at the helm, this film also takes a different angle by taking the action out of London and setting it in the jungles of Peru. This is probably a wise choice as it allows the film to feel fresh and different from the other two. It also allows for a slightly different type of story, this one being perhaps more adventurous and exciting. It makes for a fairly interesting story that flows quite well and maintains a decent pace. The humor is a little mediocre, but it is definitely more aimed at children, which is more reflective of my age than anything. I also think the emotional side is a little lacking. I remember Paddington 2 making me cry, but this one seems a little softer. In fact, I think that word sums up this film. It is nice and soft. Everything about Paddington 2 is toned down a notch or two, but it is still a perfectly enjoyable and pleasant experience.
